Artist Statement
Spiritual fullness and emptiness are among the most important and stirring themes in contemporary art. In our fast-moving world, people spend themselves on external factors, forgetting inner work and inner life. The visual language reveals this through two primary colours — blue and red. Both are responsible for our inner states, depending on our deeds, actions and thoughts.
The people in the paintings are members of a “dead race”, given only a mouth and ears. They are consumers. They can listen and spread information but, sadly, see nothing. In those who cultivate blue energy within themselves, an eye appears — a symbol of awareness and spiritual depth.
